A Case with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Abstract

|
A case of. systemic lupus erythematosus was reported and recent literatures were reviewed. The patient was a 15-year-old Korean middle-schoolgirl who was admitted to this hospital on June 23, 1973 with chief complaints of generalized edema, headache, skin lesions and fatigability. There showed a butterfly rash on the face and desquamation of the skin rashes in part, and generalized edema on physical examination. Laboratory findings revealed normocytic hypochromic anemia, leukopenia, L.E. cells in the peripheral blood smear, hypoproteinemia and several positive immune reactions including false positive reaction to syphilis. Azathioprine, prednisolone and supportive measures were tried with some clinical improvements.
